Celebration of the bicentenary of the birth of Fr Gregory in Nkoabang (Cameroon): Thanksgiving, Renewal and Hope!

Celebrating the birth means, in some way, participating in the work of creation. It is also welcoming the wonders of God's ineffable love and its manifestation in history.

In communion with our entire religious family, we joyfully celebrated the bicentenary of the birth of our Venerable Father Gregory. The outline proposed by the General Council was our guide. In fact, we have given a particular imprint to the celebration at the level of the "Holy Martyrs of Uganda" Vice Province.

We did the Triduum of prayer by reading and meditating: “the birth, name, baptism and consecration to the divine Mother of the newborn of the Fioravanti.  An incredible joy emerges in this family and in the parish church because this child is the bearer of a star whose light reflects the four protective stars. Parents presenting their child to the Lord, asked God for the grace of a prosperous future! "Vico understood, without understanding it, that he was truly the king of this house" according to a heroic Franciscan.

On Sunday, April 24, celebrating the feast of Divine Mercy with the Universal Church, we have associated the intention of the birth of our Venerable Fr Gregory. What a happy coincidence, isn't this a sign of divine Providence? In the afternoon, at 17.00 sharp, local time, we followed the solemn Eucharistic Celebration live from Grotte di Castro, presided over by the Minister General of the Friars Minor, Fr. Massimo FUSARELLI, ofm.

The love of the Lord is not exhausted, his grace is renewed every morning, says the psalmist!

With him, we can sing in chorus, so that the echo resounds from the four corners of the earth; the Lord has done wonders for us, Holy is His Name.

In memory of the precious gift of the life of Venerable Fr Gregory, our Founder rises the hymn of joy and gratitude to our God, Alleluia!
