Nurturing a sense of gratitude is more than a seasonal practice

Nurturing a sense of gratitude is more than a seasonal practice

The joy that filled our hearts cannot be expressed in words as the 2nd of August 2025 will remain engraved in our memories. On this day we made an important step in our vocational journey pronouncing our first religious vows to God in the Congregation of the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to the Almighty God for the gift of our vocation and for making manifest his love for us through the massive support and presence of our sisters, priests, parents, friends and parishioners who all came to join us raise our voices in thanksgiving to God.

As we pronounced our vows, a sign of self-renouncement to the world, we surrendered all we are and will be into the hands of God who called us to be followers of Christ. Our Vice Provincial Superior Sr Beltha NGWASHI MANGE received our vows as a representative of the General Superior Sister Marta Camerotto welcoming us into the congregation. She handed us the Religious Habit of the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart, reminding us that it is an external sign of consecration to God in the Franciscan penitential life through which the sister consecrates to God her heart, her body, every moment of her life, all that she possesses. She consecrates to Him without reserve all that she has, all that she can hope for. (F.2, P.92)

We thank the chief celebrant, Reverend Fr John for his inspiring, educative and encouraging words which will accompany us through the various challenges of our society by being living signs of His Love and mercy. He reminded us that religious consecration is not devaluing the sacrament of matrimony but giving it more value as we are fruits of this important sacrament. That we are called to promote and give life to those around us through our example.

We express profound gratitude to our General Superior, Sr Marta Camerotto and her Counselors for accepting us into the great Franciscan family of the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart. We also thank our Vice Provincial Superior, Sr Beltha NGWASHI MANGE and her counselors who helped and assisted us throughout our formation, a period of growth, discernment and nourishment of our vocation.

May God bless you abundantly as you continue to pray and accompany us to be faithful servants of Christ Jesus Crucified. For marvelous are the ways of Divine Providence, that no one has the right to ask, why this, in this manner and not otherwise (Fr. Gregory our founder)

Gratefully
